Default Calcasiue crappie?

Anyone catching any Sac's on the river? I have never fished whiteperch on the river and was looking for a few pointers to get me in on some papermouths.

Caught 1 today. River flowing around White Oak park. Serpant had no current. They seemed to be away from the bank around tree tops about 2 1/2 feet. They are not agressive I missed a few thinking it was the shiner and not a fish. The water was stained to muddy and 58 deg. today. I think its still a little early. I had good luck last yr during the spawn fishing 8in deep with shiners and tube jigs next to trees and bank. I filled the freezer in Feb. and March. Tomorrow I am going to try Indian Bayou with shiners. Last week Indian Bayou was clear. I tried jigs cuz Park Side was out of shiners. I caught a few Google Eyes and small bass. Tuesday I am going to try the upper West Fork and Houston Rivers. Will keep you posted. Pic of my son with the only fish we caught today.

I am off Mondays and Tuesdays.
I have been wanting to try the Bell City Drain Ditch. My Uncle use to fish it during the spawn. He use to claim it was the best place around for them.
Also there is a guy on my deer lease that sinks brush piles on it every year and claims the same.

I went yesterday to the BC ditch. The water is low and slightly stained. It is fresh and had water coming from a cut out of the marsh. My 8 yr old son caught a 6 lb red on a shiner. I did talk to some guys fishing the moving water. They said before the weather change they were catching everything in the cut. They had not one fish yesterday. The catfisherman said the same: until the weather passes (mid week) the fishing is spotty. I will also let you know when it turns on down there. If you don't mind what color jigs do you us on the Calcasieu to catch whites? Like Merc I am new to the White catching game. Thanks in advance!

Only thing I could catch them on were shiners. THis morning I caught 3 bass and a white perch on the west fork. Early this morning the tide was out and the river was really low. It didnt come back up until it was time to leave. Colors I have had luck with are pumpkin seed, midnight, black/chatruss, blue/white, pearl, red/white, shad, white & yellow feathers.
