Default Best Lures for Big Lake Right Now?

Greetings everyone. I?m fishing Big Lake this weekend and understand the shrimp are scarce and the water isn?t that great. What are the best lures for trout and reds right now? Thank you for your help.

Lil Johns in "Chicken" color. If you want reds, go to the wiers with some Chartreuse color Berkley Gulp Swimming Mullet.

Actually went to Big Lake yesterday and fished a lot of different spots and the water sucked. Threw everything in the box but a banjo minnow and didn't get a bite. Water seems messed up with a coffee color. Much suckage.

Only got out for a few casts today and tried the south end of Big Lake around the 5th wier. Water was pretty muddy - no luck. Going out with a guide tomorrow so hopefully I will do better. I will let you know.

Fished today and had good luck with the reds. Live shrimp in the ship channel. I would have never guessed.

I've had the itch and the wind was down so headed to the jetties early and ignored the lake completely. Picked up one big nasty black drum and a bunch of hard heads on gulp and dead shrimp.

With the wind on my side, headed offshore to the Hercules rigs and started filling the boat with black drum and sheepshead. Ended up with a 2 man limit of 18-20" drum and a half dozen 14-18" or so sheepshead. Caught and released a couple of nice bull reds as well.
