Default Hackberry Hustlers

When these baits came out I heard a lot of talk about them. Now that seems to have died down so I was wondering if anyone uses them or has used them and what their opinion is. Also don't hear too much talk about Matrix Shad and Vortex Shad on here.

Hackberry Hustler is a knock off of a Sand Eel with paddle tail

I use matrix Shad a lot with my customers and Little Johns also

Yes Mr. W, that's what I always thought, its just a Norton Sand Eel w/ a paddle tail. The thing is no one seems to use them any longer. I guess there's so many options. Norton even makes a Sand Shad that has a paddle tail. Im not sure if that was before or after the Hackberry Hustler.

Most baits around here are fads. It's a new one every year almost.

Yea guess they are fads but I just wonder how well they produce for people on average. I guess not well enough lol since there really isn't much mention of them.

Yea I just bought a couple different colors of Vortex Shad. Don't have a boat right now so haven't been fishing in a while. Maybe ill be able to go pick up the new Purebay 2000 this week and give them a try.

Whats the best way to fish the Matrix Shad? Is there a way you primarily fish them or do you vary the retrieve much?
