Default Vortex vs Matrix Shad

I have only used the Matrix shad but haven't used the Vortex. Is there any real difference in performance? Also are these type baits best used in dirty water? I'm just trying to figure out how to and when to choose various types of artificial lures and this is one question that I had. Now if I only had more experience I'd just know when to use one artificial vs another.

The only real difference that I've seen is colors. The vortex all have a different color paddle tail. The matrix are one color throughout. They are both equally good in clear and dirty water. Bait color is biggest factor.
