I have a 2014 Silverado with the 5.3 V-8. One thing to keep in mind is these trucks have high pressure direct injection pumps mounted on top the engine and are driven by an extra lobe on the camshaft. They operate at very high fuel pressure and according to GM they make a "slight ticking" sound. Well I must have gotten the loudest one made that week. At times it sounds like a bad lifter getting no oil whatsoever. Sometimes I get asked whats wrong with my engine when people hear it. Been to 2 different dealerships and I get the "its normal" excuse. Mine developed the engine vibration at 15,000 miles and I got the same "its normal" excuse. Had seat movement issues, felt like the seat base was loose. Dealer installed some kind of clips that helped a little. And if you have an Iphone connected to the Bluetooth it overrides the sounds and you get no audible alert on your phone when you get a text. Paired my phone to 5 other trucks from 09 to 13 models and all worked flawless, but Chevy will proudly tell you the problem is in your phone and not the truck. Been a GM fan my whole life, but if I had to buy a new truck tomorrow it would be my very first Ford.

Dodge 1500 is on point, if it weren't for Fords sync system it would be my top.

It wouldn't take much to replace the OEM receiver with something that actually feels like it's from post 1999 though

But no 3/4 ton and no diesel yet. Unless I missed an update. My wife has a tundra that I drove for a short time. I know it's petty but I just do not like the center console gear shift. But a lot of cab room!

Dodge has their own version of lync call Uconnect. I've had both and I may lean slightly towards the Uconnect. I have a '14 Ram 2500 and love it so far. Got the 6.4 Hemi. Not as much power as a diesel but more than the 1/2 ton v8's. This is my first dodge. They've come a long ways both in quality and design.

Truth be told a Toyota can hang with gas 3/4 tons, Alphas pulling a 21' boat, no need for a diesel.

Yes they are, they going to be offered in the Upper trim levels from what I read.

Correct, Ford, Toyota and Nissan sell trucks worldwide with small diesels in them.

I love the look of the new GMCs... but with all the bad things i hear... i think my next truck will have to be a Ford! I have hated fords all my life... but IMO they have the best interior available.... and I Love the option of having a turbo v6....

Bumper to bumper? Better than the 39k warranty on the dodge... And at least you won't be filing claims on it like with the GM

Never had any problems with my Chevy trucks.

our work vehicles are 2008 f150 4x4 with the 5.4.. first time they needed service was at the 120k mark. One is at 192k and the other is around 140k, both running good. I know it isn't the motors they have out now, but should still say something about Fords. We get about 14-15 mpg, and they are loaded down with probably 500lbs worth of equipment in the bed, plus we usually drive them pretty hard.
