Bhut Jolokia aka Ghost Pepper. Very beautiful plants but im just growing them for fun. No way in hell will I ever eat one.
Got a late start and a late cold snap killed all but these three. Hoping for enough peppers to seed for next year and share some for anyone interested.

Be careful and wear gloves when handling those peppers. Once in a restaurant I worked in we kept an ounce of ground ghost peppers. It was locked in a filing cabinet in a small humidor. When I would open the humidor my nose and eyes would water. When used we would just dip a wet tooth pick in it to add to a dish. Be careful one ghost chili is like a handful of habenaros. Them little peppers are bad to the bone. I will bet anyone they can't lick a spit one and not flip the puck out......lol

They have been known to deteriorate standard latex gloves. They are nothing to play with. When they start to put on peppers I'll have to keep a close eye on my neighbors kid. He's the kind that if he's told not to touch something its a sure bet that he'll do it anyway. Some ghost pepper juice in the eye would break him of that habit though.

They have tripled in size since I started this thread. Baby blooms starting to emerge. Evil peppers are in the making

I sure will SaltE. I have no plans on eating the ghost peppers. Just growing them for fun and for seeds to give away to whoever wants them.
Haven't looked in a while but the Scotch Bonnet T-Rex was the hottest last time I checked. 1.4million units. I think it has been passed up though. That's a serious and possibly dangerous amount of heat.

Carolina Reaper. Average 1.5 million heat units with some reaching the 2 million mark. I'm growing some next year.
I want to start a new exotic pepper every year just for fun. How many can I get before the wife says the yard is dangerous? Gona find out
