Sorry about the delay. Yea man the info was helpful, unfortunately I wasn't able to try everything you mentioned. After not catching anything that morning I had a cold pops and decided to give it a try a little before dark. Went down to Arnold's Bay and caught those to by the piers at the northern bank at the mouth of the bay. Spinnerbait did the trick pulling it through the hydrilla. I've never had confidence in them but that definitely helped!! I fished by myself Friday. Saturday me and two others went out but that front had blown through and it wasn't to calm. We scratched. I never got to use the deep diving crank baits as suggested. Never made it to the mounds but all in all had a great time. The weather out there is crazy I think from now on I'm packing clothes for year round weather. Summer trips turn cold and it ends up being hot in the winter lol. Anyway we go up angling some time in December, I am thinking about giving it a go again, any suggestions? I know the wind is usually whipping pretty good when we are out there. |

Idk about him. But we use cotton Cordell CC spoons. Just a chunk of lead painted silver with a treble hook hanging off the back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was at Pirates cove area the same week you were and the fishing was slow when we could get out. Wed thru Saturday. Fished south of Pirates cove area on some stumpy areas. Carolina rigs with brush hogs, or Flukes. Other guy was using short stick ringworm like bait. Had no bites wed eve 9 pm till 1:30 am. Cousin caught 2 fish-a 2 lb and one about 5 lbs. and Thursday was bad. Friday 6:30 am till 10am and lightning storm ran us in 3 bites... caught 1 and broke off a good fish and missed one. . Saturday fished 7 till 11 and had 2 bites on CR fluke grn pumpkin red. All fishing was in 20'-30 ft of water. I had talked to 4 other boats sat. and they were fishing shallow and no keepers. I know somebody caught a few.

We ventured down to pirates cove Saturday but it didn't pan out. Everything was new to me so I was happy just to do some exploring.

Cordell jigging spoons are what we use and I caught bass in 46 feet of water last winter on them!
