Default cheapo version of doa shrimnp bodies only

I tried the doa shrimp and the fish seam to like it but after 3 or 4 fish the hook will not stay in place with those nearly invisible tiny minute barbs on the hook so I have to put it on a regular jig head to keep using it

im looking for a place to get something that imitates and looks like real shrimp but I don't want to buy the doa shrimp bodies at $1 a piece because they don't last long and are way over priced IMO.

is there something like it that is in the same price range as the regular cocaho swim bodies like 20 for $5 or around 25 cents each

I have been looking at the scampi shrimp that looks nice and has a good price but it doesn't have the clear with red glitter color I like to use, I just find that color looks the most like real live shrimp.

I used gulp 3 in. white for years. Sometimes they last for a limit , most times not....Gave vudu a try and at 2 for $6.00 they are a bargain.....I don't like those jig heads that come with them though with the extended weights but swap out the jigheads you like and they will work. I've been catching on the same double rig since may. The only difference I see using vudu is you catch the smaller fish too. I find gulp 3 inch catches bigger fish. I find the white , chartruse tail works the best. Throw away the hooks that come with it and put them on the jigheads you like. I have caught trout , reds , white trout , flounder , and even bass which love them,,,,,,not to mention the hardheads and sailcat......They seem expensive but for how long they last they pay for themselves......

I sent todd an email but haven't heard back yet

in the mean time I ordered some of the Offshore Angler™ Scamper™ Shrimp to use

seen here: http://www.basspro.com/Offshore-Angl.../product/8371/

not sure how much the fish care about the difference in having legs and eyes but they do seam to like the clear red glitter combo and IMO, in the water it does look the same color as live real brown shrimp

I got some rootbeer with old glitter that im hoping has a sorta close look to a real brown shrimp

I use white and chartrouse as well in stained water but in clean water I think a real natural looking color is the best choice.

I will buy some TKO to try out but the thing is, im looking for 25 cent each plastic body baits not $1 a piece TKO even though they are a much better deal then $2 a piece DOA.

they look the same as DOA so im sure the hooks will pull out of them after 2 or 3 fish as well. the body lasts long but the hook wont stay in them for nothing so its hard to justify spending $1 a piece for a body you have to add a jig head to.

I find it very odd that the Offshore Angler™ Scamper™ Shrimp offer such a limited number of colors since they are good shrimp imitations just without the eyes and legs which I doubt if the fish really see well enough to even care about

I have cocahoes and sparkle beetles but im looking for a very affordable live shrimp imitation lure to add to the mix that doesn't cost more then the other baits do.

Default reuse it

When the shrimp start sliding after 3 or 4 fish, take the lure and push it down the shank.Super glue the exposed shank and shove it back up.Ready to go in about a minute. When it slides, repeat process.Putting it on a jig head is ok I guess, it's not balanced to swim like it's suppose to.

yep, I think its designed to be used sitting under a cork because it sits very horizontal in the water that way, that's the only way I use these.

I would agree they aren't designed to be a swim bait and would likely just spin when retrieved but Carolina rigged and dragged on the bottom they do well, just not a cast and retrieve type of lure

Ive never had a problem catching fish on em using a jighead and I dont have to worry about gluing my fingers to a bait

My favorite shrimp bait....rig it on a light flutter hook or jighead.

I don't see a description, is that price for a single bait or a pack of 2? or 5? or 10? or 20?

also how do they hold up to tail grabbers? seams like it gets pretty thin by the segments so do they get the tail bit off a lot?
