Default Vermillion Bay salvages day

Took a day off work, extra cup of coffe nice start. Weather report says wind a little ruff so debated till 10am. Well finally pulled trigger, never know till you go. Walked into shed to get rods and tackle box and man whats that smell? Freezer door left open ##%^&*( deer, redfish, amberjack, drum, pizza, left over ice and shrimp from previous trips all melted and some looked like science project for my 8 year old. Well drug freezer out hosed it out and decieded what a good day to be going fishing after all! Got to the bay and in the water just after noon. Boats all over cove and weeks bay. Picked up 3 specks and a flounder on east bank of weeks bay. Home back before dark with renewed spirit and start of new fish stock for freezer.

Had that happen to me twice. I think part of the problem is we pack them too tight/full to where we can barely close the door and when liquid freezes it expands and pushes the door open. Probably for that reason I'll go with a chest freezer next time. In the mean time, I'm gonna rig up some kind of latch or bungee cord deal.
