Default Which Electronics??????

I am in the market for new electronics. Which brand has the best maps, or the availability for the best maps, for SW Louisiana?

I like the down imaging from Humminbird and the down scan from Lowrance. Any reason I should choose one over the other or perhaps another brand all together?

I've always been a garmin guy but recently bought a lowrance HDS 5. That thing is sweet. Great mapping options. And you can go up to a 10" screen I believe with the HDS models.

I have a HDS 7 and 5 with down imaging. The down imaging is not working for some reason. Have not really dug into it.

Have not seen the HDS Gen 2 stuff yet. I have had Lowrance a long time, but my HDS compared to Tightlines Humminbird down imaging and the Humminbird wins. More detail.

Again, I have not seen the new HDS Gen 2.

Don't think you would be sorry with either one though
