Well first day, we climb stands, within 2 minutes son shot a doe. We both saw really good bucks today, no shot. Hunting public land, national forest.

Well I saw 3 bucks this morning, nothing I wanted to shoot, and 6 bucks this evening, 1 a big 8 passed just out of range. My son saw 14 this morning, no shots, 1 good buck, 0 this evening. I could have shot a big yote this evening but did not want to mess up this stand. Oh well maybe tomorrow.

Hehe, well went from us seeing 23 deer to 1 spike today. Weather change. Yes we bow hunting, love the challenge. Nice big deer up here, not all big bucks though, so if you come, don't expect a monster behind every tree. There is plenty public land to hunt. License will cost you $500 there about for a buck & doe tag.

Without a jacket on stand this morning, 45, no wind, sunny. Need some wind, these deer like to move in windy conditions, have never seen but few deer when no wind. Seen 1 doe so far this AM.

If you buy doe tag first, you cannot buy a combo rags after. Combo tags are lottery, but they never sell them out, so they sell rest over counter till all sold. Lottery is June 1-30, you apply online Illinois DNR website.
