Default Kern's 10/17

Put the yak in at Kern's this morning in the fog. It started as a Bass trip but ended as a sac-a-lait trip. Caught 15 bass early on worms but also caught a couple nice sacs on same baits and released. After the bass bite died I tied a tube jig on my 6'6" MH bass rod w 30#braid and fish for Sac-a-lait. Caught a nice stringer of fish for a fry in about an hour. With the right tackle could have done really well.

Monday the canals out of the pit were blocked with lilly's unless you had a surface drive. This wind may change things, I'm going to stop by Wed morn just to ck it out. Good time to go with a paddlecraft and have the place to yourself.

Nice catch. Just to let you'all know, the Landing is completly cleared of the lillies. The north east wind from the front did it's job. The people on the houseboats at the Landing were catching some nice sacs also. The water on our end looks great.

Kern's is located in Henderson, right across the levee from Pat's Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant. Come by and see us.

Fished Kern's again this morning this time in my 12ft flat. Foggy start so I stayed close to the launch. Caught enough for a Friday fish fry. Bite was good early but died as the fog lifted and sun came out. Had the place to myself.
