Another option that hasn't been brought up is what I do most of the time........ I have the Minn Kota Co-Pilot trolling Motor. It is GPS enabled and has an "anchor" feature. When the trolling motor is down, you just press the little button with the picture of the anchor on it, and BAM you stay within a 15ft. circle of that spot (usually its tighter than this though). Now really high wind or rough seas its a little bigger circle. I have used it offshore to hold us near the rig, and on the flats to hold us near the mouths of bayou drains. IT ALMOST ALWAYS WORKS. And its about the same price as a power pole.

I love mine! I have the 101lb model. I think the new ones have even more options. It is cool to control the boat (wirelessly) from the transom deck.

W, you think it would fit in my anchor box on my boat? I cant tell how big it is from the picture but my anchor box is pretty small. My boat is the Nautic Star at Anthonys camp.

Not sure if this helps at all but it fits in one of the small compartments in the back of my Haynie.

Is that the one with the "follow me" or "come to me" feature? That is really convenient if your wading.......you don't have to walk back to the boat! It comes to you!

I haven't waded since I quit fishing Matagorda. So I haven't tested the distance of to bluetooth signal. When I get a chance, I'll give it a try in the yard and let you know.
