Default 16 x 48 alweld in big lake.

I have a 16 x 48 alweld with a 40 hp and I am wondering if any body ever fishes black lake? Or are there any decent marsh spots on the weirs side and any places around big lake or pried lake that is good to fish out of a 16x48 this time of year? Thanks in advance.

A ton of ppl fish all over that lake in your exact boat y'all be fine just be very conscious about wheather and wind , and if you do get caught in the wind travel in the ship channel the waves in the lake get 4+ feet with 20+ mph wind blowing against tide movement

and I believe the most dangerous spot is the ship channel area between the washout across to south entance of west cove north to hog island gully. when there is a hard direct north or south wind and a hard tide from opposite direction this area is brutal.

That can definitely be a bad scenario but you shouldn't have to deal with north wind again for a while lol but I have an express 18' and it's gets way more sketchy in the lake than the channel to me . Near the mouth of the jetties can be crazy scary in my boat I don't recommend that at all lol

I fish a 1548 Alweld with a 25hp.
As stated, I have to watch the wind and weather closely to plan my trips.
Usually summer trips aren't as bad as long as the wind stays down.

I do fish the jetties and south chip channel areas quite a bit but I trailer down there to avoid the long runs.

Second this. The entire Ship Channel in a 16 is no place for a direct south wind. West Cove launch then if you must fish it.
