Default Prop Shop

I had the prop shop in Lafayette change pitch on my Stainless Steel prop from 22 to 20 about two years ago because the guy at master marine said I wasn't turning enough rpm's. I'm turning 5100 RPM's now and want to get up to 5500. This is a 2-stroke 150 Suzuki on a 19' bay boat. Is there a limit to how much a prop can be worked? I would like to go down to either a 17P or 18P. And also if I bring the boat to the Prop Shop in Lafayette will they test run the boat and take the time to find the right prop for my setup? Has anyone ever brought there boat to them before for this? Thanks.

Any prop can only be pitched up or down by two degrees. If you try to twist a blade anymore than that it will throw the rake off and possibly crack. Depending on what brand and model prop you have now,you should need a 17p with a large diameter to carry the load of a bay style boat. We can river test the boat at additional cost if you prefer. Also if you buy a prop with us we will re pitch or tune the prop for no additional cost within the first 30 days. Give us a ring or come pass by we will treat you right. Number is 337-235-5761
