No need for a trolling motor on that boat. The fish will just jump right in

The camp I stay at in Grand Isle has a boat with triple Yamaha 250's on it a row over... The Boat had to cost more than my house, for a sport fishing boat. Forget the Yachts that have invaded the island.

I have the wife on board for a boat since we have a paid for house, but daym, I even have a hard time swallowing $40-$80k for a nice bay boat that will fit the family. Last I looked hard, granted it was 10 years ago, it was $20-$35k for something nice.

After financing that thing, guy probably paid 200k or more for people to look at him. Save your money and pash cash for reasonable boat and invest the other 150k. If I'm gonna spend 200k on something, it's gonna be more land. It doesn't break and it appreciates in value.

Sound like a bunch of jealous folks.

Maybe dude has land, investments and everything else that he needs or wants. Maybe he bought that truck and trailer cash with a quick lick he made on Netflix, maybe not.

So what!

And kudos to him for not feeling like he had to get an F250 to pull that boat, that's gotta be a hint to something right???

An old friend used to say something similar to..., "A clean boat doesn't catch fish. If you're too worried about getting it dirty you're not thinking about fishing."

14' allweld won the tourney yesterday...Just a thought.

I'd love to have something like that but, again, I'll likely never know what it's like.

My thoughts on it are this, and I believe Goooh has the same idea :

Yes. Everyone knows you can catch just as many fish out of a 14 foot aluminum boat or a kayak. And that's great. No one said you couldn't. But personally I'd much rather be comfortable in a big boat. If ole boy has the money to buy a Yellowfin with a 400 then good for him. Maybe he bought it because he liked the specific layout of that boat. Maybe because he has too much money. But who cares. It's his money for him to spend on stuff he wants.

That's a $110-120k boat all day long. Loaded out. Expensive, yes, worth it, 100%. Look at the fit and finish of that boat, compared to any other, and you can see where the $ is. Is it needed, no. Neither is leather in a truck, a Rolex instead of a timed, or a Harley instead of a Honda. All on what you can afford, and what you want. Some of the richest I know go both ways, running 1/2 million dollar center consoles, or 18' bay boats, knowing they have plenty in the bank.

The quality of accessories and supporting items for them like Battwries, wiring, amps, etc... are worth a standard bay boat's hull alone.

You aren't just paying for that sticker on the side, those boats are top of the line inside and out, even down to the stainless trim on the custom floors in the console bay.

Just the audio system in them carries a hefty price tag - can't touch a slammin JL marine system with W7 subs...
