That looks like a 3/4 oz Trap and it probably "weights" more than the fish. |

That fish u caught is actually not a flounder it is called a bay whiff, which is a common by catch in shrimp trawls.

It looks like the eyes on that "fry" are both on the same side.
When a flounder is born the eyes are on opposite sides like normal fish. When the flounder gets to ~1.5" long the eye on the "bottom" side starts to move over to the "top" side. Usuallly on one that small the eye has not moved and is still on the other side. |

Thanks. Never heard of that before. So instead of catching a tiny flounder, I actually caught a decent sized whiff!

Yea that is about average size for a bay whiff, another small flat fish that is common that looks similar to the whiff is a blackcheek tongue fish, which is also another fish that is a common by catch in a trawl.
