I dont know if salinity has anythign to do with the shrimp coming in but there has been an excessive amount of fresh water up north... usually saltier than this around this time.

could be the trifecta of fronts, rain, winds... if you arent catchin then something is seriously wrong.

Yesterday ran from 210 and the water tasted fairly fresh all the way to LNG. Not to mention this dose of fresh water were getting right now.

It's May......almost happens every year as far as I can recall

I looked at my books from 2005 till last year and it's by far worst month of the year for trout

2006 Fished 14 times 45 trout
2007 I fished 12 times and boated 13 trout
2008 fished 7 times 15 trout
2009 fished 5 times 11 trout
2010 fished 9 times 47 trout

Got stumped for the first time in a long time tuesday with only two flounder no trout, and scrapped together only three trout this morning.
So far May isn't looking too promising...

Yea that water temp dropped quick and that will shut them down sometimes.. Same here all reports are struggling. Also after that big feeding before and after that full moon in late April.

Did this same pattern in December fishing was unreal Oct & Nov then that cold snap had the trout shut down for a month-

Only good reports have been late afternoon in that falling tide. Tues and Wed afternoon late 7-8:15 was the only time they fed.
