Default Kudos to Sheriff Mancuso

Attended a meeting as Head of our Church Security Team yesterday at the Sheriff's Office Training Academy. There were about 100 Pastors, Priests, and heads of security present. Sheriff Mancuso has offered their help in doing Church Risk Assessments and any help to start a Security Team. They offered to put our Security Team through the Reserve Deputy training program. This is great news. Our Sheriff is PROACTIVE in stopping church violence not reactive. If you wonder if there is a need, just google "church violence".

Nice, I'm guessing he reached out to the churches?

Never knew there was such a thing as a Church Security Team. Sounds like it could be a good idea.

Shawn, yes he did.
Sea, I have been training Church Security Teams for 8 years now. It is much more common than most folks think. If you never noticed, then they are doing their job correctly.

Never thought of it that way CC. I guess they(church security teams) kind of stay out of the limelight for a reason.

I'd like to get you involved at our church. I've been on the security team for our children's ministry for a little over a year now and, I see some areas that need MAJOR improvement throughout the church. Basically, right now, I'm left to nothing more than physical altercation should an event arise. I'm not looking for it to happen but, what happens the day that the estranged parent comes a knocking and, I've got absolutely nothing to put in front of them but myself? Without question, I would but, that's not always effective.

Cudos to you for looking over the flock!

As a matter of fact sir you are correct. The world has gone mad. Hence the use for a security team. Although CC and I have disaggreed on a few points I believe what he does is a good thing.
