Default Anacoco Lake?

Anyone fish here lately? I never have. I remember about 15-20 years ago them drawing the lake down and stocking it. Heard people were catching a lot of small fish then you never heard anymore about it.

I have never fished the main lake but last fall I fished the creek you launch in off HWY 8 and caught some decent fish out of it. Check out my posts in the reports section. I primarily fish Vernon lake. My buddy and I have been doing pretty good out there this year. I had a great day yesterday catching schooling bass busting shad.

They draw both Anacoco and Vernon down every few years. They both always bounce back very well. Like he said, he caught a lot of fish at Vernon recently, and it was drawn down over 8' (basically to the creek channels) earlier this year. Anacoco can be a great crappie/catfish lake at times. If you like Natty Light you'll fit in perfect on that lake lol.

I think they draw them down every 7 years alternating which one is being drawn down. This potentially means that Anacoco will be drawn down this fall.
