Default The New 2017 Yamaha F25hp ???

Does anyone have FIRST hand experience with this new motor ? They say the plain Jane model weighs 125 pounds and it out performs there old 2 stroke motor. I find that hard to believe.

I just went to their website and saw they redesigned it. It use to weigh 160-170lbs which was rediculous and I stayed away from their 25hp. Bit definitely looks like some major improvement on the traditionally heavy 4 stroke and Yamaha makes the best outboard on the water, they just generally cost more than most people are willing to spend compared to Merc or Tohatsu.

Get it and be our test dummy.

Now they need to lighten their 40hp and make it short shaft also.

Not yet but not expecting much speed. I got it cause it is light (for a 4 stroke) and cheap. After looking at how much it would cost to put together a new boat and motor set up the way I like em.....$$$$$$ :o

Ran it it's first 2.5 breakin hours. Not much to report but I do like so far. I did not check mph yet but it has lots of torque. Going to put a stainless steel prop on next time and check MPH.
