Default New GatorTrax w/Boss Drive

Hello fellow sportsmen. I have a Gator Trax 17/50 with a 37hp EFI Boss Drive on the way. What GPS/SONAR/TROLLING MOTOR combinations would you recommend? I want the wireless remote trolling motor and 7 inch screen GPS/sonar combination but not sure what brand to go with. Will be hunting the WMA's of Louisiana and fishing Big Lake and Toledo. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I can't tell you about the GPS/sonar combination but I can say that you will enjoy the GatorTrax/Boss Drive set-up. I have a 17/46 (with the hunt deck) along with the 37 EFI Boss Drive. I have not had problems with either the boat or the motor...but I will say that the GatorTrax is very heavy.

Thanks for you're input. Have the hunt deck also and removable for and aft fish decks. Will have a collapsible blind to hunt the refuges with. Planning to cover the interior with Hydraturf.

If you only fish TB the Lake Master charts are very good. They support Humminbirds but not Lowrances.

I will be replacing my Hydraturf this summer after 8 years of hard use; and actually only on the front deck. I too use a pop-up blind. Let me know when it comes in; I'd like to see it. I'm in Moss Bluff also.

My 2 cents.... I will recommend the raymarine units, the dragonfly 7pro would work great and go with that boat well on a ram mount. Also running nav+ charts in the unit just tops it off and gets you the most out of the unit. Navigation and sonar charts (1ft contours fishing charts). Great setup. Plus that unit has great sonar and downvision capabilities. As far as trolling motor, I switched over and bought the new Motorguide Xi5 this year and I have to say I am IMPRESSED! Great motor.

don't know much about the boat, but as far as electronics, I really like the garmin 73sv and lowrance 7ti. What I like about the garmin is that it has a feature that records your depths and creates a contour map live on the screen. It's side imaging, and sonar is fantastic. The down imaging is good as well but I'm still locking my settings in.

The lowrance 7ti has a great map for TB, and is also touch screen and easy to use. It sonar all around is very nice as well.

The only reason I went with garmin was for the autochart feature, which I use a bunch in the smaller lakes with no detailed mapping.

Minn Kota I-Pilot for the trolling motor and I would go with the Garmin 74sv for the GPS/fishfinder. The 73sv if you prefer the freshwater maps.
