here is the latest, he did panic, he thought it just didn't look right going back where the compass was telling him. wild life guys are here along with sheriff dept boats. we are texting with him. they can see him on night vision now, trying to get him out, area he got himself into is too shallow for their boats. Wildlife guy found out we were from south louisiana, he told me when he launched his boat, you best have some gumbo for me tomorrow night ! ha,

If he has a smart phone, tell him to download boatus app. It is like a Spot for your phone. It will send your name along with lat and lon to who ever you program it to go to.

There are some areas up in that part of the state that a compass will just spin in circles. Urchin, I know of 1 spot north of Vinton that a compass will just spin.

It is a very bad feeling when you get lost, it happened to me in a national forest blood trailing a deer and got turned around, found a creek and followed it out, now i always have flagging tape with me. glad they know where he is though!

Watching it rain while inside drinking coffee! I ain't that mad at em! Looks like it is going to rain off and on all day, good luck. Next week ought to be curtains for the big ducks. River is rising and starting to get into the woods
