Default Launching a 16 ft Aluminum boat (20HP motor) from the beach

Thinking it might be a nice option from Rutherford or J Bayou on nice calm days.

Stupid idea, or manageable with some strong guys? Tips and tricks?

Is this a "hold my beer and watch this" thing?

There is a launch just off Hwy 82 about 100 yards west of Oak Grove.

Not sure if it privet or public.... but it is very close to where you are fishing. Launch your boat and drive vehicle to the beach. Or you could launch at the park in Grand Chenier.

My map shows this canal to connect near the mouth of the Mermentau river.

We used to do it in a 12 ft boat and it was a ton of work. But we were all 18 yrs old.

We have a kayak we've been using for this. But the hope is to put more anglers on the fish than we have kayaks.

I plan on doing it this summer. I'm going to fab a 15' long tongue extension for the trailer and attach it just prior to launch. Don't plan on spilling too much beer in the process.
