Default Need help scoring bucks!

I will be going to Innovative Outfitters in Kansas for my senior senior trip in mid November but can't field judge a buck worth crap!! I am not worried about the score as I will be just as happy with a 130" as I would with a 180", the only problem is they have a 130" minimum which worries me a little.
These are some bucks from their cameras this year. Ill put what I think they would score (I know I'll probably be way off) and all opinions are welcome!
Also, if there are any techniques involved when judging...

Buck #1

I'm guessing somewhere around 135 or so

Buck #2 (right)

Maybe 140?

Start with the platform. Beams mass spread. Then add in your tines. Give an extra inch for the 1/8s missed. How I was taught.

Okay thank you!

And yeah, that was just a wild guess. I'm not sure what's wrong with his rack but it looks pretty neat IMO

Just an educated guess....but I would say you are about 10 points high on all the bucks.

Game cameras can be kind of tricky. The bucks always look bigger than they are especially when they are by themselves. You say you'd be just as happy with a 130 as you would with a 180 but that is a huge diffrence. A 130'' deer isnt bad at all but a 180 class buck is a beast. Lots of people hunt their whole lives and never even see a 180'' buck. Just be patient when your hunting and wait for a buck that steps out and you dont even have to think about it, just smoke him!!! Good luck on your hunt.

Congrats on getting to go on what should be a trip of a lifetime!!!

With that said, don't let the numbers of a rack take away one second of a hunt like this. In other words, don't worry about that and just hunt! I have been able to go on a few hunts thanks to my job that are in TX and we get there to be told to shoot "this" and "not that". At the end of the day, make sure you enjoy it.

Any buck over 130" will be something you want to mount and put on the wall. So, when you see a buck that would be proud to hang on your mantle, and he has what you are looking for, that's the one.

When I get to go to Texas, I am there to shoot cull bucks usually, and I have to look at the body more than anything. We look for a 4-5 year deer that is just "ok" as a deer and will not be much more. If we see a 2 or 3 year old that makes you go "wow" then he is off limits to see what he will do pushing 4-5 years old. Hope this helps, but at the end of a hunt, you are only left with memories so don't take away from that!!
