Default Yamaha/HDS Digital Trim Readout

I recently installed a nmea 2000 system to my Yamaha outboard. I view the gauge readouts on a Lowrance HDS unit. Everything seems to be working fine except for the digital trim.

I've connected the two pink wires under the engine cover, but can only get the display to read 124% trim no matter what my motor height is. I've also made some adjustments to the mechanical pivot arm mounted in front of the engine with no luck.

Does anyone have any input as to why the trim will only read 124% on the display? What am I doing wrong?

If i recall you need a separate cable in order to show the trim. Just having the engine interface won't show trim info.

Its a separate wiring harness than the engine interface

I've installed all the appropriate cables & have the trim showing up on the display when I turn the key on. It just shows it to be trimmed up all the way (124%) & stays at that no matter what position the motor is in. It needs to some how be calibrated...any ideas???

Did you try reversing the wires?

I think mine was doing the same thing and we reversed the pink wires and it worked.

hmm...I don't really see how they can be reversed. I have two connectors, one male one female, with pink wires that I plugged into each other. These are the ones that come from the factory disconnected with yellow tape around them. Unless they connect somewhere else as well. I'll have to take another look & trace them out later in the week to see if they can be reversed.

Do you have a picture showing how you reversed yours? Thanks for the help!

I'll try and get one tomorrow. I "think" we had to splice mine. But I'll look when I can.
