Hairout Lacassine terror!

Went to hunt Lacassine refuge this morning. I have never hunted there and have heard some stories about how messy people are out there. But since I have nowhere else to hunt Idecided to give it a try. A buddy and I arrived as scheduled to a spot we noticed holding some birds. After setting up we could hear another bot approaching then cursing. Not soon after we heard banging and decided to go see if someone needed help. When we got backto the boat the motor was gone. I noticed the fuel line hanging in the water. The motor had been knocked off and was under water. We heard the boat running out and the A$$H#$%@ saying, "What happens when you hunt someones spot." I mean come on what the hell! We got our gear up and trolled back as far as we could. Another hunter was coming out and pulled us back. We called refuge agents and they stated they would do a report but if we didn't get any numbers from the boat it was a lost cause. This is real disturbing to me. I almost brought my 8 year old son this morning but decided to see how it would pan out first. I am discusted with people. My first trip seems like my last trip for the year!

That sucks. Was this in between the intracoastal and grand lake east of the east pipeline canal. We were parking on the intracoastal and walking to a spot last year and had several groups try to come set up on us. One group filled a buddy's gas tank with water

This is the same as theft in my eyes....god I hate a thief with a passion...when you take or destroy what's not yours....that is one thing that I will lose my temp on....... About 10 years ago I watched 2 little black boys steal a bike from a white kid...( 2 blocks from police station).... I jump out my truck and caught one of them....He looked about 13 so I could not put the total disable I want to...but I busted him good before the cops got there

I would go back next week, park in the SAME spot and hide in the brush. When they start their **** I would be ready to unload my shotgun on their azz! They would be the one with a busted boat, motor and a few pellet wounds. This is a sad world we live in today. When I was growing up no one had to lock a camp, my grandfather would live is flat boat tide up on the river bank for weeks and NEVER worried one time about someone bothering anything.

It's people like that that ruin the outdoors for everyone else. The point is enjoying the outdoors and fellowship. Sorry this has happened to you. Like they said I would go back and stay close and ready when they come back.

I wouldn't kill somebody over a hunting spot.....but destroying my property that I worked hard for....well let's just say there are some things in this world worth going to jail for. I'll take my chances with a jury of 12 on this one.

Yup. It's not about the damn birds. It's about a mans hard earned property.

That has crossed my mind more than once. I am somewhat relieved they did not stick around cause I may have done something I would regret later. I am relly just happy my son wasn't there to experience this. It sux too because I live 20 minutes from the launch and was looking forward to hunting with the boy this year without getting up at 2am and driving to Sabine from Lacassine to hunt with him. I launch at Bell City drainage ditch and hit the intercoastal back east. I was parked on the south bnk of the intercoastal. Does anyone know of any safer and better area out there to hunt? I am at a loss right now.
