Hate to hear this. So sorry for what yalls family has to go through. I wish they would chop his head off.

I personally think this is a perfect case in the use of water-boarding. I would find out if he indeed is the murderer/kidnapper and also find out what he did to her body. Oh, and I would start off very, very slowly with this procedure.....

Sheriff dept. in St. Landry parish are now investigating a site near a field that may be a shallow grave. A farmer reported 3 mounds near his field. 2 were ruled out and they are still investigating the third. They will make a statement in a couple of hours. This area is near Brandons Scott Lavergne's home.

I hate it that they release "hunches" like that as news. Then it turns out to not be what they thought. Just wait til you have facts and conclusions.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) — A grand jury has indicted Brandon Scott Lavergne on charges he kidnapped and murdered missing University of Louisiana at Lafayette student Mickey Shunick. But in a surprising development, the grand jury also indicted Lavergne on a separate first degree murder charge stemming from a case in July of 1999.
The body of 12 grand jurors returned the decisions Wednesday afternoon. The District Attorney’s office presented its case against Lavergne to the grand jury for much of the afternoon.
In a statement from the office of the district attorney, Lavergne is also charged with the first degree murder of Lisa Pate. He allegedly murdered her on July 3, 1999.
The state will seek the death penalty in both cases.
Lavergne, who was not present for the trial, was arrested two weeks ago. His white Chevrolet Z-71, which Lafayette Police say is the same one caught on surveillance cameras driving behind Shunick the night she disappeared, was discovered burned out in San Jacinto County, Texas.
Less than 20 hours later, Lavergne checked himself into a hospital near New Orleans. Deputies there say he was suffering from several stab wounds on his neck, back, chest, and hands.

According to reports by Chelsea Hoffman Brandon Lavergne, the man accused of abducting and murdering missing anthropology major Mickey Shunick, had an ‘undisclosed number’ of women’s identification cards in his home. This has been revealed by police, who are not clarifying the exact number or whether or not any of the IDs belonged to some of the missing women throughout Louisiana and other states. This is an absolutely disturbing revelation that indicates a possibility that this man is a serial predator. Some of the most notorious serial killers in history were known to keep shrines and souvenirs related to their victims.

...

While police will not clarify how many women’s identification cards were discovered in his St. Landry Parish home, they do make it quite clear that more than a couple were found. Investigators also refused to clarify what police agencies, and in what areas, they contacted regarding the IDs. However, it was acknowledged that police are working with other agencies regarding the discovery of these mementos.
