Wolfman you may be right about the victims not being totally random; I know that one of the victims killed was with a group of coworkers.

Dee Stanley is the CAO, Chief Administrative Officer, for lafayette. I am guessing he is there in the absence of the mayor since he is second in command. It would have looked bad if the Jindal was there but no one from the Local Government.

Just read that no bomb was found. The package was harmless.

Seems like every time one of these happens that there is a "suspicious package" in a vehicle or room. Maybe they should just evacuate areas of of an abundance of precaution instead of talking about a package, because the packages never seem to be bombs, but everyone ends up worked up and paranoid. I can only remember Columbine having any explosives involved, and that's because they wanted to catch students running from the building.

Police confirmed the vehicle belonged to the shooter. Now they are searching a motel room. This guy from out of town?

I'm all for CC and I know it can save lives... but keep this mind...

In this instance the guy stood up 20 minutes into the movie and shot the 2 people sitting directly in front of him... BOTH of those people COULD have been carrying and it wouldn't have mattered. Just because you CC doesn't mean you won't become a victim.

I wish the people sitting directly behind him were carrying... this might have ended sooner with less tragedy... Prayers to all the victims and their families.

I just don't understand how anyone could do something like this... it's a sad world sometimes.
