I had a tree that took 5 years to hold fruit...The following 2 years it was loaded with fruit the size of baseballs and bigger....All skin , dry as a bone inside...Cut it to the ground and it never produced again...How far north do you live , maybe to cold...

Tell us where you are and maybe we can help take a picture of the tree that would help. they like to be planted in a dry area and do not like wet feet. When we planted or first one it was too low and in heavy rain had standing water around it that killed it but with out knowing more info all we can do is throw out guesses.

I have 2 trees that I do nothing too except trim lower limbs. I never fertilize or water. They produce 100's of the best satsumas I have ever eaten. The trees are 20 years old. It took 3 years for them to produce the first fruit. Have you trimmed the tree? It won't produce fruit on first year growth only 2 year old and older branches. Did you have bees when it bloomed?
