I fish it mostly in the spring. Actually i start in february. Water melon blue lizards, flukes, wacky worms. Cranks baits in white, chartreuse are very good. The water is really nice there. It is spring fed so it is clear in some areas. I hear people catch white perch and bream good in there also.

The pic of me and the fish is at Indian Creek. My pb, 10.2 lbs, caught in Feb'09. I saw her wanting to get on a bed and threw everything at her. Finally grabbed a wacky worm. I hear late fall and winter it gets really good.

I fished there a lot growing up. Never fished it in the fall, but starting early in the year until the spawn is over you can catch a lot of bass.

Most of the time on finesse worms or flukes, watermelon red if it's cloudy, watermelon seed if it's sunny. You can definitely catch some good ones off beds during the spawn. The year before last me and my dad caught eight bass between 5-7 pounds.

I fish it alot this time of year and when fish stack in the creek channels you can have fun.
Off the bank in early spring and fall you can catch some decent bass.
If you go by the covered picnic tables look in the water on both sides.
See alot of baby bass chasing shad its on. If see more bream then it is on for bream.
I use to bring a bream rod and bass rod up there when I visited customers in Alexandria I would go fishing there on the way home off the bank. Largest bass I caught off the bank was 2 lbs.

Went to Indian Creek yesterday and I caught alot of fish in the 3lb to 5lb range.
They are starting to school up in the creek mouths.
Caught them on a deep diving rouge that dives to 10ft and DD22's.
Tried Carolina rig and caught fish, but not as fast as crankbaits.

Going to input my old gps points in my new gps tonight and probably try to go back Friday afternoon.

I am not super familiar with the areas there. I fish out of the main launch in the park. I have fished the cove on the southwest side and the south side past the old road.

Have caught many fish on kudzu lizard casting at the banks. Prune shaped chatterbait with a chartreuse tail has also produced some biguns!!!

Camping this weekend. Things are going to be different this year. I saw no grass in the camper cove, and lots of grass carp. I expect to get zero bites.

Yeah, that area always grasses up. I cannot get under that bridge with my bay boat.
