Default Shrimp Limit in Big Lake

Taking my dad and my 5yr old boy to Big Lake tomorrow to try to catch some fish snd shrimp. What is the limit of shrimp you can keep castnetting in Big Lake? This will be my little boys first trip to Big Lake. It's a tradition at this time of the yr for me and my dad to go fishing in Big Lake until it's to cold for him to go fishing. I don't know who is more excited about tomorrow my dad, my son or me. I will post some pictures and a report when we get back.

Ok thanks. I knew that in the reserve it was a 5 gal bucket per boat, but I thought the lake was more.

This is correct with the exception of it being open shrimp season. During closed season the limits are less.

You will have to get the refuge pamphlet or call them to confirm the limits, I don't know much about shrimping on the refuge.

Tim.....where did you get this info?

Has anyone ever weighed a 5 gallon bucket of shrimp? Does it weigh 25 lbs [or a little over including the bucket]?

I poured in 5 gallons of water once and the water was about 1+" from the top of the bucket.

He is correct for rockefeller refuge.I know someone that got caught with more than 25 lbs with a 5 gal bucket full. Not sure if they are being that strict in other areas...
