Default Ling and Trips

Went out to the East South of the Mermentau and found some big schools of cobia. Curl Tails jigging pretty deep was the trick but once you brought one up the whole school would come up we trippled up twice and released several at the boat after we filled both front fish boxes. Then Targeted some late season big boy triple tail and managed a few they are really starting to thin out now but we had one at 15lbs and a few other slabs, lost some big uns breaking off in the rig.

Those big ling come in shallow this time of the year. Half of the ones we cleaned had eggs, so seems like they come up shallow 20-30 ft guess to spawn, this time of year. We were on them pretty good a month ago in much deeper water. We ran south about 20-30 miles couple days ago and a few ling.

They did this last year and they were thick for a few weekends. Then they vanished, no weather snap or water change. Guess just a migratory species- but they are a blast to sight cast to and catchy
