Default Scouting

I had a trip for Saturday and have not been fishing that area in several weeks. Deck hand Jay had to work so his wife and 2 kids went with me. We headed out around 7:00 and once in the area I wanted to check I put the power pole down. The catching started almost at once. Zacharey started the ball rolling.

He seemed to have the hot hand while sis and mom watched. After 4 redfish straight for him his sister Dava hooks up to her very first redfish. This was also her first time fishing on a boat. Her mom started videoing the battle and was able to put up a 2 minute post of Facebook which I shared. The fish took us around the boat and her brother was the dedicated net boy. When we had this (Biggest of the day) fish on board Dava had a the biggest brightest smile and seemed to have a small case of Buck fever.

From this point on the kids were filling the box well. Zack was still killing it.

We were sorting through several short ones which kept the action hot. Dava hooks up to another keeper and she is once again in the spotlight.

By this time it is around 9:00 and even with a breeze the heat is getting unbearable. It took almost till this time for mom to get something for the box. She was just happy seeing the children having such a great time.

It is now 9:30 and a crab boat comes by check his traps. This stirs up the area and ruins the fishing. We moved to another nearby point but the place did not look fishy at all. With 15 in the box and already answering my question of where I can find fish tomorrow we decided to head back to the marina to enjoy some air conditioning.

They had a lot of fun.

Life is Good!
Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.
