Headknocker Brad Vincent Reef

How much thought was put in the location of this reef?? ?

Over the last 3 mornings it has been in dead path of every boat heading south... I left with about 3 boats today heading south to channel area and all 4 of us crossed the reef on a straight shot,

I have ran over it everyday along with most guides....we all talked about it yesterday and today....

You will never be able to fish that if
super cut, wash out , 9mile ,west cove, any where on channel south is hot..

Every boat leaving Hebert landing or camps run right over it

I guess it is to hard to make a left or right (pass around it) once you are a few hundred yards from it...

For me no....but for the 75 boats that don't know....yes

I would be mad if I was on fish and get there at 530am to have 50 boats run all over me ...

Bottom line its in a horrible location and everyone who fishes the lake daily agrees

Yes I have and Im not asking about people on the weir hwy I mean you personally and the guides you talked to and all the regulars. The reef is in the middle of the lake so all the weir traffic wont be running over it

I'm sure we all know that if fish are on it we will not toast the reef , but with weirs closed lots of traffic is now heading south

I think they could of plan a better area.... Could of looked at lines and things....

When you have a reef you can place anywhere ....why not look at lines and common boat traffic .. That area is a line of common boat traffic.from June September for sure

It will get ran over with people fishing it there is way too much traffic that runs that line ......when I plunged it In I had tracks all over it, that's before I even knew where it was

So change your routes heading south and tell you're buddies to do the same! Now that you know there is a reef there. Its notlike it covers the entire width of the lake. I guess Youneed to be on every committee and board that has anything to do with your precious lake. Cause you're never happy with anything anyone does there.

Wouldn't have to be very wide to do that.

Why can't people that regularly fish that place just deal with the way things are and stop b itchin' about every little issue? You got more boat traffic over there than you got water for 'em to run, so, there is gonna be things that piss ya off every trip. If you are aware of that and don't wanna deal with it, then, just go somewhere else. Never heard people whine and complain about fishing like they do on Big Lake.

Couldn't agree more. Sure, it's frustrating as hell how people act, but *****ing 24/7 about it won't change a thing

Well, I hate to tell ya, buddy, but, it ain't gonna do nothing but get worse. Guides, like yourself, have to be able to adapt. The ones that do are the more successful ones and the ones who do not adapt, but, piss 'n' moan instead.....usually do not succeed.

You can throw all the jabs at what I do all you want. Fact is, I did adapt when I was in business. I had no choice. But, now I can afford to stay home and "paint baits".

BTW, "we are trying to make a living"...you quit your day job?

We have members here that fish those waters on a regular basis and consistently catch fish and you never hear them whinin' and complainin' about stuff that happens on the water. Makin' fun of it, maybe, but not blamin' it on them not catchin' fish....Spinner and Chicken, just to name a couple.

It's a natural resource. Everyone is entiteled to there share. Guides aren't any farther up the food chain than anyone else. That's what happens when u try and turn fishing into a job, or a compitition. If u can't adapt, ur in trouble. Oh yea, and those with the t tops and non haynie boats, spent their money on the fuel, gear, tackle just the same as all of u better than though bunch. And guess what, yall where all pilgrams at one time!!!

Here we go. Their office.... that water belongs to the sports just as much as the guides. If you pay attention, the guides are the rudest most arogent people on the water. They believe because that's their living, the water belongs to them and they have very little consideration for us out there fishing for fun! I have been swamped, crowded and pushed out of a spot by guides too many times to count. If you can't share the water and show coutousy out there, maybe you should think about a career change. I hope the sports these guides take out don't think that's how we are supposed to act on the water.

You are right. I don't know you. And yes there are some very considerate guides out there. But the 80% that think they own the waterways gives the 20% like you a bad name. Maybe that's something that should be discussed between guide services. I personally know a few and who they guide for and they are very arrogant. Not sure if its them or the way these guide services train their people.
