FlagUS Saturday Slam

Saturday Trout Slam

The Seacor fishing team arrived at the Lakehouse Friday evening ready to fish. After a great steak supper by Chef Andy 'The Machine' Rulf we hit the sack early and everyone was up to the task of catching the yellowmouths on Saturday. My team consisted of Clayton 'The Eliminator' Breaux, Poochie 'Troutslayer' Suttoon, and Monty Dames Jr. Monty came all the way from Brazil to catch trout and he had a great time doing so. Capt George Landry headed up the second boat incuding Andy 'The Machine' Rulf, Yarub 'Bronzeback' Faisal and Stuart Binding. Yarub is from Dubai and Stuart from Great Britain. It was a beautiful morning with calm winds and the trout ate up pretty good at our first stop. We caught about 60 trout and eventually started moving around to other locations as the bite played out. No problem finding and catching another 40 nice trout with the 'Eliminator' on board! Highlife swimmer Jr's in blue tiger, bunker and purple haze got the job done! Afterwards we had to hunt down the second boat and found them in a secret honeyhole. After filling their box with nice trout earlier they were pulling out all the stops. We forgot that our resident sheepshead specialist Andy Rulf from Morgan City was onboard with Capt George. We pulled up and the crew were slinging in big sheeps and some reds on every drop. Andy the 'Machine' exhibited precise casts down to the goatheads as Capt George quickly netted the prize! Big C has tried in vain to convert Andy over to become a trout specialist but its a hard habit to break! It was all good at the end of the day as the Seacor Marine fishing team had another tremendous fish catching day on the DU!. Big thanks to Capts Josh & Gerald Ellender for their efforts as Billy Palmer and Diana & Bruce Bonaquist and Joe had a great experience doing the DU! Good luck fishing.
