Default Q: dirt work for duck impoundment

Last weekend I planted (scattered) about 200 pounds of Sudan-Sorgum hybrid on the muddy flats (yellow) around about a 15 acre pond in a cow pasture, hoping to have at least some cover to hide in and act as a screen for birds between water and gravel oilfield roads.
Anyone had any success with this?

I was thinking about how to do some dirt work at one end (red) to put in a culvert with boards to pull, but I think it is at the shallower end. Anyone know where to purchase an L-shaped plastic culvert with riser and boards or how to build one/where to get materials?
or any idea what it'd cost for dirt work of this nature (it is in NW LA)?
Any experience with a poor-boy duck farm would be appreciated.
Thanks.

(Ducks used this pond second-split but tough to hunt with no cover. Tried the layout and hammered em, but they wise up quick. Pond is about 4 feet deep at middle, and I don't think they're eating there just loafing. Maybe the grass if it comes up will provide some cover and some food, or maybe just stimulate some growth of the natural aquatic vegetation in the little pond.)

I agree. Looks like the lower end is on other end from where your wanting to add a drain. You can get over flow pvc pipe at G&Hs. You just slide the pipe up and down it he T to adjust water level.
