I once bought Fruit O's at Kroger and put them in the empty Fruit Loops box. My 7 year old busted me when she said these Fruit Loops taste funny.

I pulled the plug at 55. We guys on fixed incomes have to be cheap.
I'm not really cheap, I'm thrifty, I recycle to save the planet.
I only shoot ducks at 20 yds or less so I don't use many shells.
I only fish with sparkle beetles cause they are only $1.49 for 8. Used to be $.99
I don't replace all of the fishing line on my reels only the last 50 yds that I use.
I wash out the old zip locks that held fish in the freezer and use them for tackle bags, the residual smell acts as an attractant.
I never throw a cast net away, I just keep repairing them until I get holes in the holes then I make sinkers out of the weights and tie downs out of the ropes.
Before I put anything in the trash, I take all the screws off it and cut off the cords for reuse. I do have some pride, I don't dumpster dive, normally I have enough junk of my own.

im so cheap I sold the 21ft bay boat I had and bought a flatboat so I could go fishing for $30 per trip instead of spending $150 per trip (and I catch more fish now then before lol)

from now on I will start keeping sailcats/gaftops and try to eat them as another source of making groceries when fishing

I never use anything but artificial so I don't spend money on buying bait

I save all the ribs from big fish as well as the back bones of reds and drum after filleting them and make a special bag of fish ribs to eat

when I go crabbing, I keep any crabs at least 3" point to point because they are small but just barely big enough to peel.

I squeeze the meat out of the little legs of boiled crabs.

I have tried crabbing with hardhead catfish because its free bait. (they are not good bait lol)

I never spend more then $25 for a rod or $30 for a reel and I make them last a good 10 years before I replace them.

I never use more the two rods so I don't have to buy more then two rods.

Are you my long lost brother.....53 for me. I have a hard time passing up a junk pile on the side of the road. Find lots of useful stuff. I repaired one of my cast nets last week.

I can scratch the ground with my toes through the sole of my boots. And my current favorite pair of shoes are the $12 grey Velcro shoes from Wal-Mart!

Im so cheap that before I threw away my broke castnet I cut all the weights off to use them for fishing sinkers. Even kept the rope too. Its 25' of good rope why throw it away?

I'm so cheap, my boat trailer bunks have been held on my ratchet straps for over a year.
