I have already had 5 or 6 wooden boats, wood and water do not mix sorry. As far as wanting a Haynie if it was priced in the Low 20's and did not use wood then maybe but NOT

I have a 1970 boston whaler that is in perfect shape. It has alot of WOOD in it.

Why would you lie??? The boat has a lifetime warrenty on the Hull....

And there is a reason all the guides are moving to them and all the redfish cup teams

The only reason Guides and Redfish Teams used them is the same reason they used any other boat its all about MONEY the best deal, and if you think it is because of any thing else u are simply wrong. You can wipe your u know what with any hull warranty out there, have u ever read a hull warranty I think not. I am happy u are own the HAYNIE band wagon, but there are no less than 10 boat companies that do a better job on every aspect of the boat building.

Yea back in 1970 all fiberglass boats had wood in them, and by the way Boston Whaler seals the wood in there boat 1000% better than Haynie does.

And for your info.... I had one of the 1st on the lake...they might of had 3 before me....and I had the 1st Black one...

And have I read the hull warranty!!! ***** again....yea... Before I paid for it....and to make a long story short...boat has a lifetime warranty against any wood rot 100%.....and I'm sure it out performs what ever boat you are using now....

Wood has the best strength to weight ratio.
Lighter, stronger means faster. Most of the time.
If you know how to take care of a boat with wood in it, you should have no issues.
If it has a lifetime warranty, that is better. As long as Haynie stays in business.

Only issue is to make sure you seal off any holes you drill into the fiberglass that has
wood under it, and to use the correct fasteners and backing plates.

I have a 31 year old Chris Craft with lots of wood in it. It has zero rotten wood and is
a great boat for it's age. Wood is what was used for coring to make decks stronger
and lighter. If it was solid fiberglass, it would be way too heavy.

There are newer coring materials that are almost as light and strong as wood and
will not rot, but they cost too much to make semi custom boats with. Production boats
that are all built the same can use man made coring materials cause the items used
are all cut the same.
