Cheers 2009 1st Annul Saltycajun meet Tournament

Today we had our tournament and had a good turn out. The fishing conditions took a 180 from yesterday as we woke up to 15-20mph winds. Guys who caught 100 fish yesterday only found slim pickings in those same spots! Not a lot of fish caught but some nice stringers were pulled together,,,,,'Thanks for all that came and Congrads to the winners of todays event!!!

5 trout stringer

1st Place: Greg J, George J, Todd J, Ricky M. 15.13lbs

2nd Place: Chris C, Rob B, Josh L. 10.71lbs

3rd Place: Josh O, Loren S, Ronnie O. 10.15lbs

Big Redfish: Chris S. 3.6lbs

Under the tough conditions.........how were the fish caught....soft plastic?

Looks like the temperatures will cool off some in a couple of days and maybe get some rain.

Mr. Gerald the guys I was with used Sand eels, and Corkeys we changed colors so much we all got confused,
but most important with all the winds and boat traffic no one got hurt.

Thanks again, Jeremy and SaltyCajun

Well, not only did we not put any trout in my boat, but on the way home I had kidney stone and could barely make it to the house. Just came home from the Deridder emergency room and am hopped up on some serious pain medications. They sent me home because there is no Urologist on duty and there is nothing more then can do for me except give me strainer to catch the stone when I pass it. Other than my Fourth of July in Iraq, this was probably the worst. Did enjoy fishing with my two new buddies though and hope to get back out there soon.

Congrats to the winners, I am impressed because we could not buy a bite!

Wow Dan that's intense. You thought it was something you ate.

As for fishing we gave it up after the only boated fish wad a drum.
Had a kid next to us land a 6 pound 13 ounce trout in the channel he was only about 12.

I had fun so that's all that matters. Where was Ronnie o this morning does he post oN here?

Thanks Austin, Rob, and W. These pain pills are doing me right so far. I wouldn't wish a kidney stone on Obama......well,then again, maybe just one! I've got to get on some decent fish at least once this summer, so I am not giving up. Rob, I doubt I can fish with the kids for at least at least three weeks. I will be in San Antonio for a week of court week after next and then I'm taking the family to Lake Guntersville in Alabama to meet up with my brothers and dad and their families for a week of fun on the lake. Hell, maybe I can catch a bass....damn sure can't catch no trout!
