I was thinking about fishing west side of the bay Tuesday or Wednesday. Only fished that end a handful of times so just gonna fish the spots I know and hope for the best.
Might try to crab too. I've been to those two weirs by the game warden camp before but anyone know anything about those other two? The hog bayou one by hell hole and the one on bayou prien I guess it's called. At least that's what google earth says.

No weir at Hell Hole but there is one at Hog Bayou. It is located in the Southwest corner of the bay. Entrance can get shallow on low tide but canal is deep. You can locate the weir on Google maps if you switch the map to the satellite view. Weir will be after 1st sharp turn to left in canal. Hell Hole is a deep hole at the beginning of the bayou that leads to lake portage. That canal is deep but gets shallow in Lake Portage. Reds on the banks when tide is high enough in the lake. Not sure of how they got names but I see many hogs on the bank when Im at tbutte which backs up to that area so I would assume that's how Hog Bayou got it's name.

Yeap.. That's Prien Bayou.. WLF Refuge Crews Just finished removing old weir and installed a new weir back 100ft or so in the canal.. Surrounding land around entrance has washed away... Weir was washing out.. So they moved it... It's a very small canal... U may be able to catch some bait there.. I was at Hog bayou 2 weeks ago.. Lots of live bait there on an outgoing tide... Don't bother trying to crab if water is coming in over weir... I find crabbing poor there if it's coming in... Plus I cant keep a crabline down unless it's weighed.

If tide is up?? I can get my 24' Triton in there.. But I know where to pass. I've been going there for 40 yrs.

I fished yesterday afternoon at T butte.. Water was passable... Not a bite.. Went offshore to Tiger Shoals.. Water was very nice.. Not one bite either after fishing 4-5 wellheads.. Fishing from 2-4:30.. It started breezing up to 2-3 fters.. Came on in...

My fianc? and I fished west side of bay today. Tried for reds in a few spots but nothing. No one else that we talked to seemed to be catching anything either so we posted up and just fished cut mullet on bottom. She had a blast reeling in those gaftops.

Looks like the tide has to be high to fish and catch around there? Tide was low and water wasn't up to the grass just mud along the bank. A lot of bait though

These 10 Reds were caught last Wednesday in and around Weeks Bay. It was low tide with virtually no water movement.

I fished the butte last weekend... Water was fishable... No trout though... Ran to Tiger Shl. Water was awesome... No trout... I sure if the winds lay down, reefs may be good. If U had live bait Id go to SMI.233 area..

Ps. It looked like V52 is gone.. I could not see it from 4 Post.
