Cool Any Beach Reports?

Was thinking of taking the yak out this weekend or maybe early next week. Has anyone been out to the Cameron beaches lately?

Gonna be mud with all this south wind. But doesn't mean fish aren't there. If you go post a report! I'll be back in two weeks.

How's the water been out there on Long Beach and little Florida. I got on a big school out there off little Florida back early May I think and it was fun. Had my five in less than 30 minutes and went looking for trout but could not find so went back and caught and released 15-20 reds then the trout showed up keeping 7-8 of those

As it turns out I didn't get down there to try. I think I'll try the beach by the Cameron Fishing Pier on the east side of the jetties later in the month around the new moon; as long as the wind stays out of the southwest (water clears up in that location being on the east side).

Let's keep this post updated if possible. If you are able to fish the surf at the beaches or even view the conditions, please give us a report. The beaches should be holding lots of trout about now.

Mud. Only going to worse in the near term. Not worth the trip.

Why would it get worse? The wind forecast is light all week.

Correct ....North wind/light wind in any direction for 2-3 days = green beach water

Looking out my window on Little Florida beach...it's muddy right now. South wind over 10mph thru Wed. night will keep it that way. Wind predictions are all over the place after that, if we get a north wind for a couple days it will clear up nice. If it is out of the East or West it stays muddy close to shore as well. I'm hoping for light north winds and no storms as I have family in town this week and want to put them on some surf fish. Easier than putting the boat in the water...

The KPLC sky cam at Cameron jettys gives you a clue as to beach conditions.

Seen reports and pics of reds being caught in surf pretty regular and just read one report claiming to have caught a few trout. Need a north wind for a few days
