Default Tuna and Daytime Sword 5/18-5/19 late report

Went out with a few friends on a wednesday/thursday trip to try to get some swords and tuna. Only one guy on the boat had ever caught swords and they have all been at night. We started off the day looking for tuna and were able to box a 107 and a 164, before the fleet showed up so we took off looking for swords. hooked up with Josh's first sword ever around 5 and before long we had a nice 80lber boat side. Made a long move to try some night sword fishing in an area one guy had a lot of confidence in and ended up in alot dirtier water, moved back to the cleaner water but never got on a night time bite. Thursday morning we went back to where we whacked the tuna the day before and they were still there in force.Caught a 96lber right off the bat and got some awesome underwater footage. We couldve caught 40-50 yellows they were so thick and hungry. We started releasing them up to 80lbs cause we didnt feel like rearranging the box or cleaning more fish. Call Capt Josh Howard with Deep South Charters if you want to get on some killer action.

Heres the link to some of the under water tuna footage, Im working on making a whole video.

We tore up some fresh fish the other night. That was my first time eating good swordfish... I'm hooked. It was probably one of the best fish dishes I've ever eaten.
Sashimi

Seared tuna

Grilled swordfish with a citrus pesto
