When officially measured by SCI in 60 days, this will be the new world record for a typical elk. The current score done by an SCI Master Measurer is 525 typical and 546
non-typical. It will number 1 typical and number 4 non-typical. Forget it's score and look at the mass of each point and you will realize how unique this bull rely is. The guy in the photo shot him at the BroadmouthCanyon Ranch in Idaho on August 18. It was a challenging hunt on horse back and foot in the middle of the BlackFootMountains of Idaho . Priceless!!

Looks like a Stag......I would think a elk's body size would be larger.

Some nice ones my dad and I shot back in 2006.

My dad shot the other one in the snow in 2007.

And the other one my dads partner shot in 2005.

After 2007, the hunting became very poor where we went due to the property owners allowing too much natural gas drilling in the area. We havent been back since 2008.

haha lucky shot! I bumped a heard of about 40 elk and they ran towards a big valley. By time I got set up for a shot they had all made it across and up next ridge. This guy was last one left running through the valley. He wouldn't stop so I threw one at him at about 250-300 yds on the run. Went in the tear duct on one side and out eyeball on other and dropped in his tracks.
