Default Boat launch at rockefeller

Looking to see if launching offshore boat at Rockefeller is a good idea?
We've launched at grand chenier a few times but for another 6 miles in truck I think this would be a better option

Once launched seems to be straight canals to gulf.
Also, does the mouth leading to gulf silt up and get too shallow?

Thanks

Remember that Rockefeller is only open from Sun rise to Sun set.

If you plan to out early or late.... must go to Grand Chenier park.

Is the parking tricky over at Rollover? From google earth shots it doesn't look like there's much of it and could see it filling up quickly...

How big is your boat? There are some pilings at the mouth of Rollover as you enter the Gulf. Also, you can't launch until sunrise, so if you are looking for an early start then you'll have to wait.

I'm in a 21' bay boat, had no issues. There was a much bigger boat that got out no problem too

Can you pass between the pilings or is there something in between them? I ended up going between the pilings and the shore on the left side (heading out)
