Give me your honest opinion on them. Looking for something to site fish reds but also be able to fish breton sound/black bay and some venice. How do they handle open water how's the ride? Not looking to go out in 5 footers but just in case the family gets caught in a pop up summer storm or if I want to make a solo run in 2-3 footers. Or should I just get a ns or triton bay and be done with it.

I believe RigRatNoMeaux runs or was running a Majek. You may want to shoot him a PM.

The 22' Boat is a rocket but not the best in open water. I talked to an owner about getting one for fishing trinity/galveston. He asked what kind of boat I had, and when I told him a triton, he said that i was nuts for even considering the majek. Said they will be you to death in rough water. Also very limited storage.
I hear the 25 foot handles great but you would expect it in a boat that size. |

Hey Ted, shoot rigratnomeaux a PM. I'm sure he wouldn't mind answering any questions you have about majek.

Being that this will mainly be a boat I take my 6 yr old out on as much as possible I think I'm going to go with a 22' triton. The 24 is a bit out of my price range and a used 22 will be perfect. Speed is not a big deal to me. I would rather have a stable dry safe boat to take the family on. Thank you all so much for your knowledge and if you know anyone with a good boat for sale pm me please.

Sorry dude, but, no inshore boat goes through 3-4'ers "like it wasn't there". Maybe you should stop sometime and actually measure those waves. |

Haynie is half the boat that a majek is and yes about half as expensive but I can tell you you get what you pay for.. Majeks are fast smooth and durable but with that said Haynes, tritons, rangers etc... Are great boats it just depends on what you need it for. I have crushed 40 to 50 mph over a 2 foot chop with relative ease and fished in a foot of water the same day. I have also gone through 3 to 4 ft seas and stayed dry but it was far from. Comfortable. There is nothing comparable the 25 extreme on the market today but not everyone needs that type of boat
