Default Start of the 2nd split

Who has been out to the marsh or fields since the end of the split? Looking forward to seeing the Arial survey on Friday.

I will be in the marsh tomorrow and post what I see west of 27.

Hearing mixed reports from marsh to central LA. Gwt Pintail and geese numbers up but not much else. Not sure where the birds are. I have a feeling the survey will not be too encouraging.

West of 27 looked much better today than at the end of the first split. It wasn't the most I have seen by a long shot but a big improvement.

I disagree he?s normally pretty accurate with at least where the concentrations of birds are located and basically confirmed what I?ve already been hearing. Not saying the 2nd split won?t be good just that it?s a lot less than expected given the recent weather conditions we?ve gotten down here.

Larry said grand lake to pecan island and north of white lake was loaded. So high hopes for the opener. I like it.

Tough hunting for me today in JB. Very few ducks flying. Managed 3 ducks and hunted until 10am.

1 teal, 1 grey, 1 scaup. Tomorrow is another day.

Hunted the lease out of the Boston both days one blind killed ten ducks both mornings consisting of Grays and a few mallards and teal. The other blind killed a few less but mostly shot teal. Ducks worked a little better than the first split and saw more but still not as many birds as last season.
