Default Big Lake Help

Plan on bring the wife fishing tomorrow. She has only fished 2-3 times and it's been a while. I have been trying to bring my 2 boys fishing with me more, but could use some help so I figured i would try to get thw wife to help. but first i have to train her. I have a 19 ft G3 and normally fish V-Bay. Was thinking about going to big lake, but have never fished there before. Would like to put the wife on a few fish. Any help would be much appreciated. Traveling from Lafayette. what is the best place to launch. what is a good area to start fishing. Not looking for secreat spots, just some pointers to help in having a good time with the family.

Thanks

The birds have been working every day from lake charles down through big lake. That's about as easy as it gets to locate specks. There are always reds and flounder hanging around the weirs this time of year but you may have to bear with the crowd. If it isn't too windy, you can launch at Calcasieu Point or Hebert's and have quick access to the lake. If the wind is blowing like it has been, Lake Charles may be your best bet. There are plenty of fish up there to be caught right now. I usually launch at Prien Lake Park when I fish the Lake Charles/ Prien area.
