FlagUS Calcasieu River Wednesday Afternoon Fishing Dogfight Week 2, 2010

Hey Guys: Here are the results of Week 2 of the Wednesday Afternoon Fishing Dogfights.

The start of the Week two tournament was right on schedule on this not so hot cloudy day. The fishermen voted to end the tournament at 8:30 pm. A few of the fisherman that went above Ward 8 Park got rained on but most stayed dry. Below are the results of week 2:

1st Place Team was the duo of Robert Weemes & David Rabalais with a outstanding 5 fish limit that weighed in at 8.47 pounds. Their stringer was anchored by a nice 2.41 pounder. . They caught their bass of the tournament on buzz baits in the West Fork. They reported catching 6 fish. They are now qualified for the Championship to be held in late August. They also won the Tarver Ford's Bonus Cash of $100. Their total earnings of the night was $300.

2nd Place Team was awardedto Todd Fontenot & Larry Corbello for their 5 fish limit that weighed 7.65 pounds. They had a respectable stringer anchored with their biggest fish a 2.27 pounder. For their effort they were awarded $70 plus $100 in Bonus Cash from Lake Charles Toyota for being the highest placing team with a Toyota towing vehicle. They reported that they were fishing in the West Fork and were chunking frogs and other plastic lures.

3rd Place Team was Buddy Pesson & Steve Goff with a 5 fish stringer that weighed 6.18 pounds. Their stringer was anchored with a 1.79 pounder. They captured most of their fish on plastic lures in the Main Calcasieu River.

4th Place Team of Daniel Rudd & EJ Albert finished with a 3 fish stringer that weighed 5.64 pounds. Their stringer was anchored by Daniel's Big Bass of the night a great looking 2.72 pounder. Daniel won the Wendi's Flower Cart Dozen Roses for catching the Big Bass and the team was awarded $70 for 1st Place Big Bass.

The contestants were treated to door prizes from Lake Charles Tackle. This upcoming week remember if you purchase anything from Parkside Marina ask them for a receipt then write your name on the back of the receipt and drop it in the container marked Parkside Drawing. From those receipts we will draw for a 6 pack of your choice at the end of the tournament. Steve "River Legend" Goff was the lucky 6 pack recipient this week.

Lake Charles Toyota
(I have been acquainted with Philip Tarver - owner - for over 39 years and he is a good guy. The people that help him operate his dealership are like him the nicest in town. Stop by and see for yourself. When you visit Lake Charles Toyota be sure to take a test ride in the new Tundra Truck and please thank them for their generous sponsorship of our tournament.)

We are very proud to tell the public of our association with Tarver Ford.

Winners of the Tarver Ford Bonus Cash:
Week 1 - Buddy Pesson & Steve Goff $100
Week 2 - Robert Weemes & David Rabalais $100

Wendi's Flower Cart
(Go by and see Ray Bustillo and/or his wife Wendi. Ray always has time to listen to a good fishing story and will always have time to tell you one. Great people to know and do business with).

Lake Charles Tackle
(The best place in town for your fishing and hunting needs. While you are there you will see that they do live up to their slogan "where service is the catch". Please go by and check out their huge selections of fishing lures and be sure to thank them for the tremendous "door prizes" they provide each week. David Rabalais, co-owner has been a regular contestant in past Dogfights. He like the rest of their staff are always available for some good local fishing information).

Parkside Marina
Please, do not park your boat trailer on the camper spots. When you pick your boat out of the water park your rig in the north east parking lot. Be aware that some of the people live in the camper spots and when the are coming home from work they would like to park near their trailer. (Tom Mayo does a great job as our Dogfight Tournament host).

Joe Joslin Outdoors
(If you or your company are looking for a quality fishing trip on Toledo Bend call Joe Joslin. He is a really good guy and knows where and how to fish. I have fished with him and I am very impressed with his operation. Be sure to read his column in the American Press every Thursday.)

Now forward this email to 7 other fishermen and you will catch more fish in the next tournament but if you don't all of your fish will be small ones...........................lol

If you know anyone interested in receiving these results please send me their email address and I will add them to the list.

If you are a winner in the tournament please hang around for a while so I can take some pictures after the Awards Ceremony.......thanks

Good luck on your next fishing trip,

Ron Castille
