Default just saying hello from Eastern North Carolina

Thought I would just drop a line and say Happy Holiday's to my SaltyCajun brothers and sisters. Yes, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.

I am missing home some kinda baddly. Sense leaving the West Bank in January... I have hooked and landed one 11" trout, and maybe a dozen undersized reds. Off shore hasn't been that good this year either. The wind has been blowing sense May, and hasn't turned off yet. I was able to get out a couple of times, and managed some Mahi, but nothing to brag about.

Duck season has been open for roughly a month, and so far, I am going hungry. I am seeing birds, just haven't found that sweet spot yet.

Yeah man there is no place quite like Louisiana. I hope you get to come back home soon, unless you are stuck up there permanently in which case you'll just have to settle for visits to the ole sportsmans paradise. Merry Christmas to you too!!

Doesn’t NC have pretty good crabbing and oystering? May not be much love action but at least you could get the taste of home

the crabbing isn't that bad... nice size, and a lot of meat in them... the oysters on the other hand taste like they come out of a sewer.

I do like spring time here, as the turkey hunting is great, and then late spring the Mahi come within 5 miles of the coast, and are easy to catch as long as the wind doesn't blow.

Was talking to a charter boat captain the other day, and he was telling me the Giant Bluefin Tuna (GBT) are about 4 miles off the beach... to bad my boat is at the dealer having warranty work done. the average size being brought in is around 500lbs.
